AIX administrators and system engineers who will need to plan and set up HACMP clusters and maintain them on a daily basis. Participants learn how HACMP can be exploited to realize the high availability required for critical business applications. This will involve a discussion of both the concept and the terminology of HACMP as well as tasks which are typical when operating running clusters. The special features and differences of the latest version of PowerHA 6.1 are part of the course. Tasks and attributes of clusters Basic concepts of PowerHA - Topology, resources, and processes - Takeover modes of resource groups Configuration of storage and networks - Implementation and maintenance of shared volume groups - Heartbeat and monitoring the network - Modes of the IP address takeover - Impact of IPAT on clients and administration Configuration and handling of PowerHA - SMIT panels (standard and extended path) - Monitoring a running cluster - Workflow at defects and reintegration of components - Problem handling and script errors - Integration of NFS System management of active clusters - Configuration changes without downtime - Cluster Single Point Of Control (C-SPOC) - File Collections Advanced features - Application monitoring - Integration of mutual dependent applications - Analysis and documentation of existing clusters |
