 Who should attend:For AIX administrators who want to perform the basic installation and software maintenance on several client systems more uniformly and efficiently. Goals:In this course we discuss the set-up of a NIM environment as well as the adaptation and maintenance of installation resources. The participants learn how to effectively use NIM. The course also covers new features inclusive AIX 7.1 Content:Building up a NIM environment Basic installation using NIM Further NIM resources - mksysbs - Unattended installation - Bundles and scripts Extended NIM configurations - Building up a high available NIM environment - Integration of Linux into NIM - POWER specific tasks - Offline migration of mksysbs - Integration of VIO Servers into the NIM environment - NIM in a distributed LAN environement - Backup/restore versus cloning Update of NIM resources Software maintenance with NIM Alternate disk migration Integration of Distributed System Management (AIX 6.1 TL4/AIX 7.1) - extended NIM options for system management Integration of NIM in LPM environments |
